NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day 3

It’s past 8pm and I still haven’t started writing but I went to the library this afternoon – for the first time in months – and surrounded myself with dystopian goodness. My fingers have been rather melancholy today and I hesitate to rejoin the river that is chipping away at the goal word count. While I love sprinting, against myself and others, I have found that sprinting does have it’s down falls and sometimes I find myself wasting precious moments trying to think of the exact word that i’m looking for. It frustrates me to use lesser words and though I know that it’ll all work out when I edit, I still worry over it because I wince at the amount of work and pressure I am putting on my future self.

While I am stressed out about not having an detailed outline this month, my continuous rants on twitter and at my mom while we’re in the car are testament to this, I am enjoying once again having my characters surprise me in even bigger ways then normal.  The last two thousand words or so have thrown some beautiful plot twist my way. I’m loving, in a very stressed out manner, how the story had taken the reigns now and is starting to come alive. It beats driving anytime.

Thank you Jesus!

It’s so strange to see 10,000 words so close in reach when two days ago I thought that I’d barely make 8,000 or 9,000 words by the end of the week. My goal of 12 to 15k is looking to be more and more realistic especially as I have an entire free period tomorrow and a quiet house to write in.

I’m 17% of the way to the finish line!

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!

Keep up with my daily saga on twitter (@elisalromagnoli)!

Quick Note: If you follow me on twitter you already know this but this is the reason that I am not posting my NanoWrimo story on Wattpad right now.

The reason why I am not uploading my #NaNoWriMo2016 story to wattpad yet is because I’m currently just writing. I do not have chapters and while I have a vague idea of where those chapter breaks may occur I am not certain because I decided to forgo my typical outline this month.  I haven’t written without a detailed outline in a few years.  Another reason is because I do not believe in posting half – completed work that I am not super happy about.  My #NaNoWriMo2016  novel will post likely be posted on #wattpad sometime next year after it’s edited. (This was just copied and pasted from my twitter so please ignore any typos, I’m too tired to fix it at the moment.)
